• You can also use the L2TP VPN protocol if you wish to unblock websites if you are out of the country. L2TP, or Layer 2 Tunneling Protocol, is the same as PPTP in that it does not provide encryption or confidentiality methods.

Although PPTP and L2TP may seem like neither of these will be a good choice of VPN protocol so you can unblock websites, these may become useful to you if you will be using an iPhone or any other smart phone. These phones are not able to work with SSL and OpenVPN, although these protocols are required to be used on laptops.
